About Castings Worldwide
What is it?
Castings Worldwide doubles as both an Online database for Castings with a shop window for International Actors and Models plus an iInternational industry related library. Globally based talent use the site as a gateway to the Film and Modeling industries by using our online CV system. The site itself has been recently redesigned by www.flowebdesign.ie and launched in June of this year. The site has been upgraded to include Industry information for countries around the globe covering finance and funding documents for Film Makers. In August 2006 the site acquired an online Interviewer which we have coupled with the likes of UIP's generous offer to use material. to compliment this we have worked hard to complete the 3rd phase of the project. The site now comprises of a Forum, Interviews and Reviews, Database of International Actors and Models, Free membership to Directors Producers Colleges, Industry pages, Trailers, Ability to promote Films in need of Finance, Post Castings for Free, Competitions, Polls, Festivals, Up and coming events and a wide range of Documents and information about the film industry. However the site is never fully complete with plans a foot to include Box Office Results, Business Ticker and more in 2007.
Who's Behind it?
Castings Worldwide was Created and founded by James Fitzpatrick in 2005 and brought to the market in 2006. It's Staff mainly comprises of researchers and Contractors. The PR for the site is looked after by Kate Bowe PR based in Dublin. Kate has a long and distinguished history in the Business and has worked tirelessly with the company to provide a professional Launch and structure to our International promotion in 2007. Flowebdesign has helped both design and construct the eCommerce of the site and were behind it's redesign (Still in Progress) in November 2006. Realex look after the payment system with Ulster Bank providing the facilities and Financial advice. The company has also been aided by recently hired Researchers based abroad that provide funding information to the public relating to Filming. Augustus Cullen and Son have advised and continue to advise on all the legal matters regarding filming and the online business.
Finance?
The company was funding entirely by the creator, with construction to Market broken down in to 4 phases. Sales are generated through selling online space to Actors/Extras/Models at year subscription Fees. An advertising agency is working with the Company and advising it on the possibilities of Selling advertising space on all 14 of the Industry pages. The Production Company is now involved with Independent called 'The Lighthouse'. Through 'CafePress' the company intends to open up an online shop. Free advertising to Casting Directors, Directors and Production companies using the site will be provided as castings are an important part of the business.
Future?
Castings Worldwide has recently moved to involve itself in the UK and US Modeling and Acting Agency Business. By doing this it will provide a different form of income but will also close the loop on the part of the industry it represents. The website currently provides services to Agents to help promote their Clients through a code and link system and intend to develop the internal email system already in place. The company also hopes to get involved in the creation of Online CDs that will provide information of Film Making and Modeling. This should also provide a backdrop to plans of promoting up and coming bands online.
